The top open-source eCommerce system keeps getting better! Magento released a new, upgraded version of the Magento Community code base today – Magento 1.8.1.0.
It helps improve:
- Tax calculations, including Value Added Tax (VAT) – important in the EU.
- Also helps address Fixed Product Tax (FPT) for bundled products and credit memos.
- 1.8.1.0 supports the EU’s new recycling tax (W.E.E.E.)
- Plus other improvements to the shopping cart, checkout, CMS, product import and product export system.
Magento does warn that due to the code updates, some Magento extensions may not work properly with the code update.
